“Books are not absolutely dead things, but do contain a potency of life in them to be as active as that soul was whose progeny they are; nay they do preserve as in a vial the purest efficacy and extraction of that living intellect that bred them.” - John Milton
NAME: Mel AGE: Depends. MISNOMERS: "That crazy girl!" "The one that cooks!" ENJOYS: Food, cooking, creativity, Bernard Black, tea, reading, crack HATES: Dullards, nihilism, hot weather, capped internet, Legal Studies, the law QUOTE: "I'm not out of my bleeding tree just yet."
The owner of this blog is not crazy, however, admits to being a chronic insomniac and prone to bouts of strangeness due to sleep deprivation. Apologies are extended in advance if you inadvertently stumble across her butchering of the English language and become infected with stupidity after perusing the scribbles. Please note that the management can not be held responsible for any trauma (mental or otherwise) incurred as a result of friends-adding this journal.
In her spare time, Mel enjoys reading, writing in third person, music and films. Whilst her reading list is constantly rotating, she is unyielding in her love for Friedrich Nietzsche and more recently, Abraham Maslow and Blaise Pascal Richard Dawkins. She is also passionate about T.S. Eliot, Frank O’Hara, Wordsworth, John Fowles, Emily Dickinson, Oscar Wilde, Norman Cousins and Shakespeare… And J.K. Rowling.
She'll listen to just about anything and everything but particularly RnB/hiphop and a little bit of classical. She also dabbles in indie-rock (her favourite band being The Libertines).
